(Optional website training from £50 depending on the complexity for your E-Commence website)
Web Directions can help give you the flexibility to trade online, 24 hours a day, with an easy to use E-commerce website. We can create you a fully-functioning online shop showcasing your products and services in a clear and concise way. Please contact us for a quote.
When setting up your online shop we need you to supply the following details…
Each product will need:
How would you like your customers to pay for your products?
For card payments, we recommend PayPal, but other payment gateways are available. Please note that most card payment gateways, including PayPal, require a % per transaction fee so it is best to check this out before you decide which option to take. Please find out more about PayPal charges here. Stripe is another popular payment option, please find Stripe charges here. If you have a specific payment gateway in mind please ask us to check for compatibility.
Are your products available for delivery, and/or collection? If so what are your delivery charges and how would you like them to be calculated?
*There is a one-off cost of £50+VAT for us to setup the mile radius delivery option for you. The mile radius option relies on Google Maps API and the distance is calculated on how the crow flies, not necessarily by road paths. For the Google Maps API to work, it needs you to setup billing information on the Google account. You will get a certain amount of use for free, but then anything over that allowance will be charged to the billing account. It is unlikely you will exceed the free allowance, but we are obliged to make you aware that this is a possibility. More information can be found on the Google website here.
We recommend you supply content for your terms and conditions, and any return or cancellation policies you have. These pages will be linked to from the generic website footer and also from the checkout page. Customers can then tick a box to confirm they have read/agree to your T&Cs before placing an order.
You may want to allow customers to create an account and save their details for future orders. Alternatively, you can allow only guest orders, or allow a mixture of both. If you wish to allow customers to create accounts, you should not send them promotional emails unless you have made it clear that this is part of them signing up.
You might decide to allow the use of discount codes on your website. Discount codes can be based on a % or a fixed amount. They can apply to all users, or only logged in users. They can apply to all products, or only to specific products. Please let us know if you would like to add this feature and which discounts you would like us to set up.
All E-commerce websites need to have an SSL certificate (the small padlock that shows next to the web address in your browser). We can add this to your monthly direct debit along with any hosting, domain and/or email payments. Please find out more about SSL certificates here.
Typically, we would quote on populating up to 10 products for you. We would then give you a training guide and optional training session to allow you to create any remaining products, and future products yourself. If you do not feel you can populate the products yourself, we can do this for you in return for an additional fee, which will vary depending on the number of products you need creating. A 1 hour training session costs £50+VAT and can be conducted in our studio, or via Zoom, Skype or Teams.
Your E-commerce website will likely have some pages outside of the shop area such as a Home page, about page and contact page. Please refer to this content creation guide when writing and supplying your content to us.
