Google Fonts
Most websites use Google Fonts because they are widely used and don’t add significant weight to your website (especially when used sparingly)
In Google Fonts you can . . .
- Search for a font by name
- Enter your own text in the ‘Preview’ field to see how it will look using different fonts
- Refine your search criteria using the filters on the left hand side
Most fonts will have many different weights you can choose from.
Adobe Fonts
We can also use Adobe Fonts on your website. Adobe offer a broader selection of fonts, but they often add more weight to your website, so should be used carefully.
In Adobe Fonts, you can . . .
- Search for a font by name
- Enter your own text in the ‘Sample Text’ field to see how it will look using different fonts
- Refine your search criteria using the filters on the left hand side
- Upload an image to try and match a particular font used in the image (click the camera icon in the search field near the top right corner of the page)
Most fonts will have many different weights you can choose from.
For web projects its best to avoid ‘Variable’ Fonts.
